The Royal Tavern

Could this be the longest lasting bar in Kingston?  I’m in awe that it’s still around…and that I’ve yet to step foot inside.  Will have to give it a go one day.

This will certainly become one of my favourite shops, once I figure out what to buy, and then what to do with it.  :)

Made 4 You

A very cool concept:  Made 4 You is a cooperative supporting Kingston area artisans.  A “by-the-people-for-the-people” shop.  Excellent source for that “something different” gift over the holidays, as well as inspiration for personal projects.

Located on Princess Street, under Roger’s.

Olympia Billiards

While searching for 69s, I came across this forgotten gem with the wicked paint job.  Deceptively small, this place holds a whole lotta pool tables in the back…and some of the best french fries in town.  The original owner is still there, and came to find out what the hell I was doing taking photos of his business.  (Mentioned his fries, and all was well.)

Located on Charles Street, between Bagot & Montreal.

Adorable building at the corner of Rideau & Cataraqui Streets.  Curious that it’s being used as nothing more than a billboard for businesses located further down Cataraqui Street…anyone know anything about this place?

A couple of drive-by shots aimed too high, but work very nicely as desktop wallpaper.  Click on a photo to see full size, then right click on image and choose “Set as desktop background.”  Enjoy!

I don’t know if “Le Chien Noir” alludes to Led Zepplin at all, but thank you, Black Dog, for finally shutting your door and allowing another 69-er Friday to be!

We’re no Montreal, but we do have our fair share of cool looking fire escapes.  This one is on the second block of Brock Street, across from Cook’s Fine Foods.
