Made 4 You
A very cool concept: Made 4 You is a cooperative supporting Kingston area artisans. A “by-the-people-for-the-people” shop. Excellent source for that “something different” gift over the holidays, as well as inspiration for personal projects.
Located on Princess Street, under Roger’s.
Kingston Zombie Walk
Zombies out in force tonight…
…for Kingston’s first (and hopefully annual) Zombie Walk. Great costumes, and loved it that even the kids were involved! (And good on them – some of these guys freaked me out too!)
Quattrocchi’s
For those who aren’t familiar with Quattrocchi’s, it’s unfortunate that scratch n’ sniff monitors haven’t yet been invented. The colours of Quattrocchi’s are one thing, but the rich, spiced scent that hits you when you walk in the door is indescribable…and the only thing that ever came close to the same as my Auntie Eva’s house. (Or perhaps it was her house coming close to this.)
As far as I know, Quattrocchi’s Specialty Foods has been located on Montreal Street just north of Railway & Rideau Streets, since the beginning of time. And it still smells the same.
UG Art Original
Literally stumbled upon these guy on a walk around the neighbourhood with the kids one day. This person’s lawn is covered with these guys…I’m partial to the Easter Island-ish guy up top, but the kids liked the dude with the toupee. They were all certainly eye-catching!

Leapfrog in City Park
Bronze children, leapfrogging in city park. If it weren’t so cute, it might be considered creepy. Perhaps a night shot of the same is in order, to truly tell…
The Brighter Side of Queen’s Homecoming
For some, Homecoming isn’t so bad. Christmas lights and all, this hotdog vendor on the corner of University Avenue & Brock Street probably doesn’t mind all the visitors to Kingston. He was certainly happy enough to have his photo taken!
#4 – 69-er Friday
The chick on the bench above freaked me out a bit – had been shooting through the trees and thought I was being watched. Guess I was.
Gotta love these old downtown Kingston homes.
Sima Sushi
I’ve not yet tried their sushi, but if it makes as much of a statement as their outer decor, they’ve got my business.
Before Metro
Truly, this photo deserves a better title than “Before Metro” but alas, the signage has got me. Another old favourite, shot in May, 2009.
Soon, I will have run out of my personal stock of decent photography, and will be giving fresh, in season shots.
